H.E. Judge Khalid bin Ali Al-Obaidli, President of the Investment and Trade Court, received today, Thursday, at the Court headquarters, H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, along with his accompanying delegation, as part of his official visit to the State of Qatar.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the experience of the Investment and Trade Court in the State of Qatar and its notable achievements in developing the commercial litigation environment and enhancing services provided to litigants. The discussions also focused on technological innovations and modern systems that contribute to expediting case resolution and ensuring transparency, in addition to exploring avenues to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise between the two brotherly countries.

The Omani delegation undertook a field tour of the Court’s facilities, covering its various departments and divisions, where they were briefed on workflows and mechanisms of service delivery to litigants. They also examined the technological and judicial infrastructure supporting the Court’s operations and listened to a detailed presentation on its jurisdiction and its pivotal role in supporting Qatar’s investment environment and bolstering investor confidence both locally and internationally.

H.E. Judge Khalid bin Ali Al-Obaidli stated that the visit of H.E. the Minister and his accompanying delegation represented an opportunity to gain closer insight into the experience of the Investment and Trade Court in Qatar, with the upcoming enforcement of the Investment and Trade Court Law on October 1, 2025. He emphasized the commitment to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise in support of the developmental and economic plans of both countries. His Excellency explained that the Court in Qatar stands as an advanced model of a specialized judicial environment founded on quality and efficiency, relying on the “E-Litigation – Taqadi” system, which accelerates the administration of justice effectively through the use of cutting-edge technologies. He also highlighted the Court’s integration with governmental entities, which supports economic growth and enhances investor confidence at both national and international levels.

This visit comes as part of Oman’s keenness to benefit from Qatar’s pioneering experience in this field, thereby strengthening its ability to establish a specialized and effective judicial system that supports its developmental and economic plans.

At the conclusion of the visit, H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef expressed his gratitude and appreciation to H.E. the President of the Court, the esteemed judges, and officials for the warm reception, praising the advanced infrastructure and modern systems that reflect the distinguished standing of the Investment and Trade Court as a leading judicial reference both locally and regionally.
