His Excellency Judge Khalid Ali Al Obaidli, President of the Investment and Trade Court, met on Tuesday with His Excellency Mr. Marco Aleman, Assistant Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Judge Issa bin Ahmad Al Nasr, Vice President of the Investment and Trade Court, and a number of court officials.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation, including the publication and updating of the Investment and Trade Court's rulings on the WIPO Lex database, and the training of judges specialized in intellectual property lawsuits, in addition to qualifying court experts concerned with the matter.

The meeting also addressed the laws that contribute to the development of adjudication in intellectual property lawsuits, and the possibility of holding meetings with specialists from the WIPO Judicial Institute to follow up on the progress of work on intellectual property lawsuits.

At the end of the visit, His Excellency the Assistant Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization and the accompanying delegation toured the court, where they were briefed on the halls and services provided by the Investment and Trade Court to the public, and listened to an explanation about the nature of its work, its jurisdiction, and the modern technology it uses.
