His Excellency Judge Khalid bin Ali Al Obaidli, President of the Investment and Trade Court, together with Court officials, held a meeting with representatives of the Qatari Engineers Association and the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants. The meeting reflected the Court’s commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation with professional associations and exploring ways to develop joint collaboration, in a manner that serves the interests of litigation, contributes to reducing the duration of proceedings and achieving expeditious justice, while supporting the Court’s jurisdiction and advancing the system of specialised expertise in investment and commercial disputes.

The meeting builds on the ongoing coordination between the Investment and Trade Court and professional associations, and explored ways to benefit from specialised national expertise and competencies in the engineering and accounting fields, in line with the nature of the cases and disputes within the Court’s jurisdiction.

Representatives of the Qatari Association of Certified Public Accountants attended the meeting, led by H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabit Al Dosari, Chairman of the Board of Directors, alongside Ms. Maryam Mohammed Ali Al Malik, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Mohammed Al Waseef, Executive Director.

Representing the Qatari Engineers Association were Engineer Amina Mohammed Al Nuaimi, President of the Association, and Mr. Saud Abdullah Al Dulaimi, Secretary-General of the Association. The meeting discussed mechanisms for utilising specialised engineering expertise, reviewed areas of joint work between the Court and the Association, and considered ways to enhance communication and coordination channels, thereby promoting operational efficiency and the quality of technical outputs relating to cases before the Court.

The meeting also addressed a number of matters concerning technical and specialised expert work, including mechanisms for engaging qualified professional competencies in accounting and engineering fields. These efforts are intended to support judicial work and provide the expertise required for matters involving specialised technical knowledge, as well as to explore ways of developing procedures and expediting tasks associated with expert work.

H.E. Judge Khalid bin Ali Al Obaidli underscored the importance of partnership and coordination with professional associations, given their role as an important source of specialised national expertise. He highlighted the value of integration between judicial work and professional and technical expertise in addressing investment and commercial disputes, in a manner that supports procedural efficiency and contributes to achieving expeditious justice.

The meeting further considered the development of more effective coordination mechanisms in areas of mutual interest, strengthening communication and the exchange of expertise between the Court and professional associations, in support of judicial efficiency and the quality of technical outputs related to cases before the Court.

The meeting reflects the Investment and Trade Court’s commitment to expanding partnerships with professional institutions and associations in the State and benefiting from national competencies in fields related to its jurisdiction, thereby enhancing the quality of judicial work and supporting the development of Qatar’s investment and trade environment.

The meeting represents a step towards consolidating integration between the Court and relevant professional bodies, while establishing ongoing channels for the exchange of knowledge and expertise, contributing to the development of the framework governing commercial and investment disputes and supporting the timely resolution of cases.
