The Investment and Trade Court held its fifth General Assembly meeting for the 2026/2027 judicial year at the Court’s headquarters, chaired by His Excellency Judge Khalid bin Ali Al Obaidli, President of the Investment and Trade Court, and attended by Their Excellencies the Judges.

The meeting commenced with remarks by His Excellency the President of the Court, who welcomed Their Excellencies the Judges and emphasised that General Assembly meetings serve as an important platform for consultation, the exchange of views and expertise, and the discussion of matters relating to judicial affairs. Such meetings contribute to advancing the Court’s progress and reinforcing its mission to deliver timely justice and strengthen confidence in the judicial system.

His Excellency noted that the achievements and efforts made during the previous period to develop the judicial work system and enhance operational efficiency were the result of the sincere efforts of Their Excellencies the Judges, and their strong sense of responsibility and commitment to fulfilling their judicial mandate. These efforts reflect the Court’s standing and its role in supporting the investment and trade environment in the State of Qatar.

His Excellency also reviewed the future directions and plans aimed at continuing the process of judicial and institutional development. He called for the agenda items to be discussed with objectivity and responsibility, in order to reach outcomes that strengthen the Court’s progress and support its continued development.

The meeting addressed a number of matters relating to the conduct of judicial work, including the approval of the judicial year schedule and the allocation of duties, as well as the discussion of work plans for the upcoming period. The Assembly also considered new matters and issues requiring the necessary action.

The convening of the General Assembly reflects the Investment and Trade Court’s commitment to strengthening coordination among its judicial bodies, developing work mechanisms, and enhancing performance efficiency, thereby supporting the Court’s objectives and reinforcing its role in fostering a specialised and effective judicial environment for investment and trade.
